Breakout Session Presenter: Truancy - School engagement and Re-engagement
Thomas George, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Research Associate at the Washington State Center for Court Research of the Administrative Office of the Courts. He received his doctorate in developmental psychology from the University of Utah, specializing in child and adolescent development. For the past two decades, Dr. George has been conducting research studies and program evaluations in the areas of child development, education, and juvenile justice. Most recently he developed the Washington Assessment of the Risks and Needs of Students (WARNS) and authored the report, Truancy in Washington State: Trends, Student Characteristics, and the Impact of Receiving a Truancy Petition (2011).
