Breakout Session Presenter: Effective Educators and support Staff Working with Students
Judith Morgitan has been a Pennsylvania certified school nurse in the public and private settings in both elementary and secondary schools for approximately 25 years. She is currently employed as Coordinator of Perkiomen Valley School District Health Services and is the Certified School Nurse at Perkiomen Valley High School (approximately 1,800 + students grades 9 – 12). Judith serves on her district’s Community Connect Council, which includes all stakeholders involved with district students (i.e., mental health coordinator, school psychologist, social worker, counselor, school nurse, administrators, child protective services, juvenile probation, and law enforcement). In addition, she is a member of the Student Assistance Program, mental health team, and her county’s Teen Parenting Task Force. Judith currently serves on the Executive Board of the National Association of School Nurses (NASN), is Pennsylvania’s Director to the NASN Board of Directors, NASN’s Liaison to the National Education Association Board of Directors, and Vice President for the PA State Education Association’s Department of Pupil Services. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Wagner College, Staten Island, NY and her Master’s Degree in Health Education from Eastern University, PA.
